While I was putting together my blog on charitable fall fashion, I discovered Gretchen Jones’ jewelry line for Aid to Artisans. You might remember Gretchen as the controversial winner of Project Runway Season 8; but since then she has been super productive launching her own clothing line, mothlove, and collaborating with Gap’s footwear and accessories spinoff, Piperlime, on a jewelry line that gives back to artisans in Colombia.

The collection – which was designed exclusively for Piperlime – features more than a dozen pieces of gold bracelets, necklaces, earrings, rings, and even a two-finger ring aptly monikered “World Ring”. The website takes you on a video journey with the designer as she describes her experience working with Colombian artisans to develop the line.

The charity, Aid to Artisans, is an international nonprofit that partners with designer brands to provide work opportunities for low-income artisans around the world. The organization offers business training, product development, and market access to artisan groups that are new to the marketplace, giving them access to increased business opportunities and sustainability. Over the last decade, Aid to Artisans has served more than 100,000 artisans in 110 countries throughout Latin America, Europe, Africa, and Asia.

The collection is currently available on Piperlime’s website, with pieces ranging from $48 to $120. All of the proceeds from the line (100%!) will benefit Aid to Artisans.
